The Girls of the Garden Club

From our press release

We will close out our season with our Spring High School Play, The Girls of the Garden Club by John Patrick. This comedic tour de force tells the story of Rhoda Greenleaf, who lives to garden. It’s her obsession, to the chagrin of her husband Vincent and daughter Marigold. While her house already looks like a jungle, she’d love to expand her plant collection by adding a greenhouse behind her home. But Vincent refuses to pay for one. When Rhoda points out that “even the White House has a greenhouse,” Vincent tells her that if she’s ever elected president she can have a greenhouse, too. But...he didn’t say president of what! Rhoda therefore decides to seek the presidency of the Upper South Ho-Ho-Kus Little Lake Garden Club, and with the help of several fellow garden club members, she plots to oust the long-time incumbent president, Lillybelle (a general pain in the neck who peppers her speech with French phrases and puts on airs.) But as the date of the annual flower show and competition arrives, fate throws a few curves -- and the twists and turns that follow will leave the audience rolling with laughter! The Girls of the Garden Club will be onstage April 28 - May 1st, 2022.
