Wizard of Oz

THE WIZARD OF OZ

This November, we will proudly present The Wizard of Oz By L. Frank Baum, with Music and Lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, Background Music by Herbert Stothart, Dance and Vocal Arrangements by Peter Howard, Orchestration by Larry Wilcox, adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company, based upon the Classic Motion Picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed in all media by Warner Bros. This All-School Musical will feature talented performers, tech students, and musicians from 3rd through 12th grade. This is the classic version of The Wizard of Oz made famous by Judy Garland in the 1939 movie. It tells the story of Dorothy, a young farm girl from Kansas who yearns to see the world over the rainbow. During a storm, she is swept away to the Land of Oz, where she meets several strange and wonderful new friends (and a few enemies) and sees many fantastical sights. In the end, she realizes that her home and her heart are in Kansas, and her new friends help her find her way home again.

The original 1987 Royal Shakespeare Company adaptation was nominated for 4 Olivier Awards, including "Musical of the Year." Our production is sure to delight audiences of all ages, and we welcome everyone to come see this amazing show. Our Student and Senior Preview Performance will be Thursday November 10 at noon; tickets for this performance will only be available on the day of the show at the door. Other performances will be November 11 - 13 and November 18 -20, 2022. Friday and Saturday shows start at 7:00 pm, and Sunday performances start at 2:00 pm.
